Dr. Robert M. Franklin, President of Morehouse College, will welcome AMSA members and conference attendees at the Friday, March 26th luncheon in Atlanta. On behalf of Morehouse, one of the higher education institutions co-sponsoring the conference, he will be offering his perspective on educating black males and what we have learned (and need to learn) to create change. He will also highlight the Morehouse Male Initiative funded by the Melon Foundation and how it is contributing to their goal of making Morehouse the leader in educating African-American college men.
He will also chair a panel of representatives from the other men’s colleges to highlight how they have each created successful learning environments for educating college men. With the attendance of student groups from these colleges the conference will provide insights into the critical discourse on college men and masculinity.
