An important update on AMSA’s 28th Annual Interdisciplinary Conference on Men and Masculinities.
After careful consideration of the ongoing and expanding impact of COVID-19 and consultation with the AMSA Board of Directors, I am writing to let you know that the AMSA conference will no longer be held as scheduled.
AMSA’s annual conference is the primary means through which we, as an organization, contribute to the critical study of men and masculinities. It is also our primary source of financial stability as a volunteer-driven membership organization. While the decision to postpone the conference was a difficult one to make, we feel it is in the best interests of our constituents and the health and well-being of our registrants.
Though the conference will not take place next week, we are not canceling the conference but postponing to a future date. We are working with our host institution, University of Northern Colorado, to determine a suitable alternative date for the conference.
We know that you will have questions regarding this change, but ask that you be patient as we work through the details and identify a suitable route forward. We will be in contact with additional details in as timely a manner as possible.
We apologize for any inconvenience or stress this may cause for you at this time. We understand that there may be financial consequences for you related to this decision.
Our hope is to mitigate those consequences to the extent we are able.
Again, please be patient as we work to identify the best route forward given the circumstances.
